I got a Studio 1810c in September and have been mixing with it.
When I am working on mixes, I'll get occasional brief dropouts (no sound). It's not on the file, I can back up and play the same section again and it's fine. As I continue to work the drop outs become more frequent. I finally just put my Scarlett 4i4 back in the setup and all is good. I really wanted to have the eight inputs, but it's too much of an annoyance . my choices: 1. Fix the problem. 2. Use the scarlet for mixing and put my 2015 MBP and Saffire Pro 40 up for tracking. That sort of makes my M1MBP purchase a waste. Any suggestions on fixing the 1810c problem? |
No answers. I solved it. I lowered the block size to 256 and the unit pretty much stopped working so I put it back to 512 and rebooted. Voila, it was fine. I should have just rebooted to begin with. I have been in the IT industry since the 70's and reboot has always been the first thing to try when something isn't functioning properly. I have not had those kinds of problems since switching to MacBooks so I kind of forgot.
