My drummer pal just bought an 1824c to mic his entire kit. He's also using it to record vocals and called to say he's having trouble getting the right blend of direct input from the mic mixed with recorded tracks from the computer in his phones. I have an AudioBox 44VSL, so I told him use the Mixer knob... that's precisely what it's for. As you're discovering, I know nothing about the 1824c because I had no idea it doesn't have a "Mixer" knob... why on earth not?
So... I'll ask naively: How do you set your headphone mix with this device? So simple on the AudioBox devices... TIA! - George |
BTW - I know about cue mixes in S1, but that seems overly complex for his simple purpose. And for some unfathomable reason, busses can't be in cue mixes...?? Some of our projects have over 30 individual tracks that always feed into sub (sometimes sub-sub) busses, then into higher level Vox and instrument busses before they get to Main. What on earth prevents this obviously logical thing to do? Dinking around with 30 1st level tracks just to balance his direct mic vox with backing tracks is really not practical.
Does Universal Control have its own mix capability? Neither I nor he have found it... Thanks! |
The 1824c has 4 built-in digital mixers for main and monitor mixes. The mixes are controlled from UC. Install and launch UC, connect the interface and then click on the image of the interface appearing in the UC to launch the digital mixer controls. Headphone 1 and Main share a mix and headphone 2 and Mix 3/4 share a mix.
