i have an 1824c and just wondering where unity gain really is on the pods...
tracking an artist through my 6176 i find i have the pod almost directly in the middle number to have great levels. im use to interfaces that dont need to adjust for line.
i just want to be sure im getting correct levels or if i may need to turn the 6176 up. currently have the gain at +5 with the level at 6.5, input of the 1176 at 6 and output right at 5 but going through the 1824 fresh out the box the levels were non existent so i had to turn the line 3 pod up
let me know
thanks

Old post but putting an answer in case anyone needs it.

Per the manual, line gain range on the inputs is -20db to +20db, so unity would be 12 noon.

Only if the gain pots have a linear taper. If they are logarithmic then 12 noon will not be unity gain.

Nope. Linear taper pot 50% will be 50% of the way through - halfway between -20 and +20 on the dial. To get to 50% on a log (or audio or A) taper pot you need to be around 2/3 of the way up or so... roughly.

Yes, only, dBs are logarithmic. So for a 'linear' dB scale (e.g.-20dB to +20dB with 0dB in the middle) you need a logarithmic / audio taper pot.
