Hey everyone,

I am interested in upgrading my 16.4.2AI to series iii 16 SL console. I was also looking to buy a NSB 16.8 to expand to 32 channels while keeping a compact look.

My question is, when I have my NSB 16.8 connected through AVB, can I record all 32 of my channels (on board and network) multitrack to pro tools? Or are all the NSB 16.8 inputs just meant to expand what can be outputted from the mixers main outputs ?

I kinda just assumed you could record all the inputs but someone else told me that they can have up 56 channels in there SL32 but cannot record all of them.

I cannot find a lot of info on this so if anyone can clarify that I can record my 16 on-board channels and my 16 NSB 16.8 network inputs at the same time to protools or capture via USB, that would be great !

In short, yes you can. All Series 3 consoles are 32 channel mixers. You would simply have the second bank of 16 channels sourced from network.
