Hi There,

I have 2x Studio Channels and I'm totally confused as the back of one states 12V but the other states 16VAC.

The power adapter for the 12V unit states DC which is totally confusing as the online specs I've found all state the adapter should be AC.

Has the power changed between production runs or is something screwy with my second unit?

Cheers, Ben

It's AC.

16 VAC / 1000mA

Thanks for that, I did find that info and my first unit has 1VAC printed on the back but the rear of my second unit states 12V and the adapter is definitely a 12v DC adapter.

Has anyone seen this before?

Use a voltmeter to check it.

Thanks for that but I don't understand exactly how to do that - attached is a pic of the back, definitely 12V DC

I got this second unit second-hand and the 12V DC adapter works with it. I initially connected the the 16V AC adapter form my other unit which didn't work, then freaked but it still works.

Anyway, it seems PreSonus has switched to DC which is a bummer because my AC tube guitar pedals sound much better than my DC ones so have always assumed AC had more power for tubes (I realise it's probably sending DC to the tube anyway).

Will have to compare the sound.

Cheers

Here's what mine looks like so they must have changed it in production...
