I just recently purchased a Slate Digital ML-1 modeling microphone. I also bought the VMS One transparent preamp but it has been back ordered for almost a month. During this time I found a post for one of the VMS One preamps on Reverb and the person selling it said "...due to already having fairly transparent preamps available I don't need it." So I cancelled my order for it and my question is: are the preamps in my Studiolive 32SX indeed transparent as I have read they are and sufficiently so as to not color the ML-1 or any other microphone for that matter or should I pick up something like a Camden 500 for this mic?
I currently have a Joe Meek One Q, an Art Voice Channel, and an Art Digital MPA for my outboard preamps. Nothing high end but enough for coloring signals.
