Ok the forum marked my last thread from a few weeks ago as closed. Well issue is back.

SL 32 s3 and Fat Channel Plugin Collection Volume 1
- Yet have no additional plugins only stock
- They were there yesterday, and now gone

2 days ago I did a factory reset followed by a firmware revert. After all that, I reinstalled the latest firmware, installed my FC plugins and then copied my latest Project / Scene from a local HD. All was well. Until last night, when I noticed I did not have the Comp I had set on a vocal. I open comp and all but the stock plugins are gone (only Standard, Tube and FET)

I look in UC to see the collection is installed, but the there is NOTHING in the Status column. I delete them all, and reinstall them. Still nothing. I reinstall the firmware and there are no plugins in the list, so I click install. UC goes thru the install, I restart and nothing. There is a list of plugins grayed out, but no status on anything. I Authorize them, and still nothing

All Gone.

Ideas?

From what you write I conclude that the plug-ins are/were there, just not activated. For activation you need an internet connection and you have to be signed on (in UC) to your PreSonus account.

What you did (factory reset and firmware revert) you’ll probably have to update the firmware first to make sure that everything (UC, firmware and plug-ins) goes together well.

Last remark: A factory reset shouldn’t need a firmware revert. Factory reset resets all settings to factory default. A firmware revert returns the mixer to the firmware it had when it left the factory. That’s really a last ditch effort when all wheels came off.

No they were there and active yesterday. Then last night (with no power down) they were not there.

When I did the factory reset 2 days ago and Firmware revert. I ...
1. then reinstalled the latest firmware
2. Installed all plugins
3. copied my working scene over from a local HD thru UC
4. Everything worked fine.

Last night I only had stock in the mixer and in UC the list of plugins was showing grayed out with no status

That’s what I wrote: the plug-ins were on the mixer, just greyed out (not activated).

Can you give us the UC version you are using, and the firmware version on the mixer? And do you have the plug-ins in your PreSonus account? (My Products - Add Ons).

Another thought: Do you have the correct mixer details (serial no.) in your account?

I have an SL 32 s3 (firmware v2.3.16845) and Fat Channel Plugin Collection Volume 1 (1.0.2.57677). UC v3.2.1.57677 and yes the plugins are in the account.

Hmm, nearly at the end of my ideas. You’re on the latest public versions of apps, firmware and plug-ins, and numbers match, so that’s fine.

Last thought for now: checking the version numbers in my account I noticed that loading the details took a while. Were you connected to the internet when you lost the plug-ins? When the mixer/UC has no internet access then it has to go with latest result. But maybe when it’s connected (and you're signed in in UC) and it takes too long to load the account details the mixer concludes that you don’t own the plug-ins, so they’re disabled... :?:

Maybe you can experiment with that?

Thanks, Yes internet connected.

I have noticed my account (presonus account) says in my hardware for the mixer to up date to the latest firmware even though i am updated. I have told presonus about this before and they do not seem concerned about it. I also checked my software addons and all my plugins are registered at 1 of 5 (that is in the mixer only) so its not like i've run out of registrations. I thought about maybe unregerstering each plugin and seeing what that would do. But at this point I am waiting on presonus tech support.

Just unregistered a plugin I dont use, the Vintage 3 band, and then told UC to authorize all plugins, and it did. Went back to the web site and it registered again with todays date, but it is not in the mixer or in UC.

Then how is your gear (mixer/computer/tablet) interconnected and connected to the internet? All connected to one router with internet access?

Mixer is connected to UC computer via USB and that computer is connected to a router via cat 5. Never had a problem b4

Is there a way to install plugins without an internet via the SD card?

I believe that you will still have to activate the plugins via internet.
There is a activation button in the page for the plugins in UC.
Also as @wahlerstudios mentioned either remove the screenshot or edit away the number.

Ok ... here's a fun fact. After hitting Authorize no less than 3 times today (seeing the plugins but all grayed out), I clicked Authorized again just now, Got the prompt to restart the mixer, Turned it off ... BUT .. this time all I did was change the USB cable coming from the mixer to the computer to a different USB 3 slot (not a new cable) just a different slot.

Now understand, nothing had changed before I did the Authorize command. I turned the mixer back on ... And all the plugins are there.

I had done that now 3 times today. Not until the 4th time did they actually activate

Ok, now I personally would check that I would have no power savings on my USB ports in in the System settings just to be sure that's not a problem, it can easy be the culprit in some circumstances and if set to no power saving on all USB ports that won't be a problem to be fixed.

Well it's still happening. Power up the SL 32s and the plugins are gone.

Behavior Observed:
1. If I wait an hour or maybe a day, they are there.
2. If I do not power up for 3-4 days they are no longer in the mixer.

And what I have seen is that when I go into UC, the plugins are installed, but not activated. If I activate them, and restart the mixer ... they are there.

SO ... i am thinking this is an Activation / Registration issue where my registration keeps getting dropped ever few days or something.

I have a ticket in with Presonus ... but Crickets .

One more thing to try is activating the plugins with the mixer connected to your home network/router with internet access.

For this remove the usb connection, connect the mixer’s control input to a router/network port, have your computer with UC on the same network, from UC’s startup screen make sure you’re signed in to your account, open the mixer’s controls in UC, go to settings/plug-ins and activate the plugins. Also check for updates (firmware and plugins). Then shut everything down (use the mixer’s power down button in UC, just to make sure the mixer is done with all it needs to do) and connect everything as normal.

See if the activation sticks after this.
