Everything appears like you would expect. However, there is no audio from the Tape PB channel. Meter doesnt show any signal anywhere. I posted in answers too. I followed this to the tee. Its not difficult, it just doesnt bloody work.

What version of Universal Control did you install?
What DAW or program with audio are you testing from? If Studio One or others, make sure the master fader for your song and your I/O is configured to send output to USB 37/38.

Hey Trucky,
Thanks for your reply. I have the latest 3.1. Actually, I'm not using a DAW. It was my impression, perhaps wrong, that the board would simply act as a USB audio device, and that my PC would play through the windows manager. I was not trying to play out of a DAW. I would not have expected to see a windows playback device if it was not designed to function simply as a playback audio device. What think you? |
No DAW is required if you just want to play audio from your computer. Is the Series III 24 set as your default audio interface in Windows? Make sure the firewall or a privacy setting in Windows isn't blocking this. You can also run the "Troubleshoot" app in Windows=> Settings=> Sound.
Here's a good document to check out: https://pae-web.presonusmusic.com/downloads/products/pdf/Using_Your_StudioLive_Mixer_as_an_Audio_Interface_with_Universal_Control_V2_EN_25032019.pdf

Yep, I did exactly all of that. My issue seems to be with resources. I found a notification saying "Not enough USB controller resources". I find this completely odd because I only have 5 things plugged into the bus, including the Presonus. Plus, Universal control works. This is running on a massively resource rich Supermicro workstation. I have no idea why its whining about resources. I have to figure that out, I believe.
Thanks for your reply. |
As a quick test. Unplug any external USB hub controllers. Plug the Series III 24 directly into a USB 2 port on your workstation to see if that corrects the problem.

StudioLive Series 3 mixers are 128 channels of I/O over USB (64x64). It's a lot of bandwidth. You will need a dedicated USB Bus to run these. USB Ports often share the same USB controller chip. Even if you have 6 ports, each pair or two of those 3 pairs may be on one chip. Typically, USB 2.0 will have it's own chip, USB 3.0 and 3.1 will have their own chips. Also, PCIe lanes may take resources away when used. Keep that in mind.
