Hello, all...

What is the maximum usb cable length I can use with a SL32R Series 3? I'd like the stagebox on the stage, about 100' away from the computer.

Would this work? Can I use an active/active cable? Anything?

thanks,

-brian

My suggestion would be to open a support ticket and ask Presonus directly. This is a user forum, and while very helpful, any answer here is coming from another user. Best to hear it directly from the manufacturer that has tested multiple scenarios.

Nothing to do with us.

USB Cable Specs state 5 meters or about 15-16 feet.

FireWire is the same.

Copper based Thunderbolt is 3 meters or 10 feet, and Optical TB cables can do 60 meters (197 ft +/-).

USB over ethernet has worked for us; something like this: https://www.amazon.com/WEme-Extender-Co ... B01FHTCH68

That's pretty dang cool if it works for audio too, like the SL32R. Would be useful in the studio and live applications.

If you have a Mac with Thunderbolt (not USB C) you can use the AVB network for Audio. Alternatively, have you thought about locating the Computer on stage (close to your mixer) and using VNC to connect to it. I have used the USB over Cat5 adaptors with a 100 foot cable but they have to be the powered (5v) type.
