If the DAW control update doesn't come out this month I want a refund. I bought this console specifically for this reason and was sold under the impression that it already had DAW control. The description said it had DAW control. Here I am 9 months later with no DAW controller in my studio. No responses to anyone's questions on here...or barely any. Three grand for a console I don't even use is unacceptable. And I don't need any smart azz responses from the peanut gallery. I expect an answer from Presonus. If I don't have a working DAW controller by Dec. 31 I want my money back or I will contact my attorney and handle this matter accordingly. Like the previous customer stated, I too am having a hard time trusting Presonus at this point and I have been a long time customer. I own a lot of your gear including first generation mixer, monitor station, studio channel and more. Again this mixer was supposed to come with full DAW control. That is false advertisement. I need a firmware update release date and I need it before Dec. 31, 2017. Please acknowledge our concerns.

Not to be a pain in the A&&, but I did post a question in the Answers area of support back in Nov and only got one reply with a pretty vague answer (which was worded in a way that I don't think was from a Presonus rep) :

Question
----------------------------------------------
asked Nov 26 in StudioLive Series III by psusername (330 points) 1 flag
Rick mentioned in his 6 in 60 Presonus Live presentation that the user beta of the DAW control FW would be available in Nov and then to public sometime in Dec. Since there is one week left in Nov, I was wondering if that time frame still valid? I am also curious how registered series III owners will I be notified about the FW availability?

Thanks - looking forward to getting my grubby little mits in that FW!

I'm trying to find the answer as well. This has stopped me from purchasing the board.

When I bought my console nobody let me know anything. The description clearly stated that it had DAW control...and it does Not! It did not say DAW control is coming nine months later...or a year later. I shouldn't have to get on a forum to find out after the fact. Sorry if my previous message sounded a little sour but after all this time it is warranted. I will be happy as long as the firmware update happens this month...not next year and not any later than that. Three grand is a lot of money to be handing out for a console I have not even powered up yet because it was falsely advertised. I love Presonus products but I am aggravated to say the least.

Who did you buy the mixer from? Not sticking up for Presonus, but I did a lot of looking at all the available information from the time the mixer came out until they shipped and in none of my research did they say the mixer had DAW control when they began. In interviews when they where asked about it, they said it was coming some time in the end of 2017. Personally I would rather have it work properly and be late arriving then have Daw control that has issues.

Go to the Sweetwater description. It says DAW control: Yes. For Studio One. If it only worked with Studio One I would be fine with that. I have a screenshot but for whatever reason it will not let me post it. And yes I would also want it to work properly but the fact is the description says it has DAW control now....and I need it and that was why I bought the console. Like o said, I shelled out 3 grand...I want it to function for the purpose I bought it for.

I would suggest that that is an issue with Sweetwater. The PreSonus shop itself does not state that at all. It says "coming soon". My advice is always to do as wide an array of research as you can before purchase. I can tell you for a FACT that it IS coming, first for Studio One, and then for MCU and HUI later.

As my family motto states: Good comes to he who waits.

I understand about waiting but why should I have to wait when it was advertised as being a DAW controller already? And I did look around. The description came from Presonus. Sweetwater didn't make their description for them. Also they backed it up several times, which is understandable but it is discouraging when I have already made the investment. Also the description you posted is the changed version and the original was the same as Sweetwater to begin with. They have changed it to cover their tracks. I actually made my purchase from Pro Audio Star. I would like to at least have the beta version so I can get rolling. The main thing that bothers me is the lack of communication from Presonus. I love my Presonus products but I feel like I was misled and I would have purchased a different product had I known it would take this long. I built a 4 room studio and this was supposed to be the heart of the studio...now I am just waiting...and that's not right.

We're all waiting, Scott. Personally, I am with the other poster who said he'd rather have it right than more full of holes than a slice of Swiss cheese. I believe that the original posting was an error that was almost immediately corrected to state "coming Soon." For whatever reason, Sweetwater have not corrected their posting of the feature list.

I agree with the frustration. You should not have to do "research" to be sure facts are correct. The venders should do that prior to posting. I agree. I see nothing that would tell me that the feature was not available. Sounds like a beef with Sweetwater to me. Good luck.

Totally with you on the frustration, Scott! If you want to talk about your particular case some more, it might be worth having a chat with the Sales folks https://www.presonus.com/about/contact-us . Also, take a wee look at the manual, towards the back. It might provide some helpful information about Product Specifications.

I hope that helps you going forward.

On another note, have any of you guys recorded with your series lll yet..and if so what kind of results are you getting? As I have stated before, I haven't even used mine yet. I have the 32 and I am chomping at the bits but until I have full control I have been using my 1st generation SL16. Just curious of the recording quality. Thanks

I haven't yet either, but from all reports I have read, and folks I know who have I have talked to, all report good results.

You can mix through your Series III mixer, and print a 2-bus mix back into Studio One. It is a work around for now, until DAW control public beta begins.

For the record, I have been waiting just as long, and I hate waiting for new shiny things too. I totally get your frustration, and explaining the reasons why we are here probably doesn't help you out. We are getting close to the finish line here, and I can tell you with certainty that they are throwing everything they have at this to meet the deadline. That's about all we can hope for at this time.

I would say to you, unpack the mixer and get it set up. Regardless of daw control, the sonic quality, and new fat channel options are outstanding. Even without daw control, it fully functions as an interface quite well.

Thanks for the input Matt (and the others from Presonus)!

I purchased my SL 32 III back in April and found it to be very well designed and the sound of the preamps is great. I used it for about a week or so back in then to really dug into the layout and features. My intent for the mixer is "Studio" and not "Live" so I ran into a brick wall when I started looking into using it to mix and master. The mixer seems to expose a fantastic amount of "control" however, I will not really be able to comment on this until I get the DAW capabilites.

Previouly I had been using a "jury rigged" system of three Berhinger BCF2000 and a BCR2000 for my recording "desk." It worked, but unfortunately, I found that Presonus HW always seemed to integrate much better than 3rd party stuff (as I always to seem to keep reaching for my Faderport 1).

I know you are just as anxious as the others here, and I appreciate that input and I know the team is working really hard to release the FW. I guess the frustration bubbles up more as we get closer to the date the "Marketeers" stated. I also think that there was frustration on SL 32 III owners when they saw the new Faderports and RMs released (and updates for the HW in Studio One), but no mention of the SL 32 FW mentioned unless it was asked about. As I mentioned, I asked about it in the "Answers" area and only got one reply from what appeared to be a user.

The one question that I had that was not really answered was how will SL 32 owners be notified that the FW is available - will we get an email or do we need to keep checking back to the StudioLive Series III Public Beta area (I did register my SL32 back when I made the purchase).

Thanks again and take care!

Good question. Not sure what the Presonus plan is, but I will inquire. I can tell you that I will make sure there are loud and proud announcements on the forums.

Thanks for the input Matt (and the others from Presonus)!

For the record, I am not employed by Presonus, and I don't think any Presonus folks chimed in on this thread. I am just a user that helps to admin the forums, that knows who to ask to get the right answers.
