FaderPort 8 and FaderPort 16 General Discussion

I have been looking all over the place for a way to change the layout of the scribble scripts and have hit nothing but dead ends. I love the FP16 product but would love for a way to get a better display on the scribble script. Ideally I'd like to see the fader volume level display by default instead of a giant C/L/R (pan) but options are always good. I see the manual has the section on sysex where it shows the different display modes but I can't find anything on how to do this. Has anyone successfully changed their LCD displays? So surprised that they didn't add these different displays as an option to select in the settings. I'm using the FP16 with Studio One Professional.

I have also wondered how display the scribble strip meters. The manual has it as a sysex function. Information on how to implement this would be greatly appreciated.

Asking myself the same question...

Any update on that?

I wish. Kind of frustrating since they basically show you in the manual that it’s possible but don’t really tell you how to change it.

Display mode can be changed by modifying files located in device folder. I've replaced "default mode" to "small text mode" in mapping files and got it in FP16. Unfortunately, I didn't find way to get channel name in two lines as on screenshot in the user manual.

Thanks Andrew! Any chance you could share more detail of the change you made and what files you changed?

I love my FP16 but it would be so much better with edited scribble scripts.

I don't remember what exactly and which file have to be modified. I simple searched for default mode and replaced it with smal text mode.
The files are in Devices \Presonus \FaderPort 8+16

Here is how the list of all modes look:
let DisplayMode;
(function (DisplayMode) {
DisplayMode[DisplayMode["kDefault"] = 0] = "kDefault";
DisplayMode[DisplayMode["kAltMode"] = 1] = "kAltMode";
DisplayMode[DisplayMode["kAltSmallMode"] = 2] = "kAltSmallMode";
DisplayMode[DisplayMode["kAltLargeMode"] = 3] = "kAltLargeMode";
DisplayMode[DisplayMode["kMeterMode"] = 4] = "kMeterMode";
DisplayMode[DisplayMode["kMeterMode2"] = 5] = "kMeterMode2";
DisplayMode[DisplayMode["kNumModes"] = 6] = "kNumModes";
})(DisplayMode = FP.DisplayMode || (FP.DisplayMode = {}));

Make sure you have backup of all files before modification.

So did you make the changes and then restart the device?

Really appreciate the info. Most I’ve heard anyone having success since I’ve owned it. 😁

Each time you made changes you have to remove and add again device in Studio One. You don't need to restar FP.
Please notice that S1 may overwrite some files while closing.

Sorry to keep throwing more questions your way. I have looked at every file in Devices and I see the function you reference but don't see where to replace Default with Small Text. Any chance you could find the file you edited? I've played around changing a bunch of them (I took backups) but haven't had any real luck.

I've also submitted a ticket to Presonus support to see if they can offer any help. If I hear anything from them I'll be sure to post it here.

Any further guides on how to do this? Has anyone been successful in changing the Default Display Mode? Poked around in the various js and XML files but can't seem to find where the default DisplayMode is set.
