FaderPort 8 Compatible with SLive 16R?

I think I already know the answer to this but I'm hoping I will be pleasantly surprised. Is the FP 8 compatible with the StudioLive 16R. I didn't see any stmt in the 16R Overview that implied that it was, but it would sure seem like it could be. If it's not now, any chance of a firmware update that would make it possible?

Unfortunately this is not possible. I asked last week also the same question from Presonus.

Yeah, I thought so. However, I was also looking at the Thunderbolt top model and it said that 1 used the UC Control, which if I understand correctly, can run on a big monitor (24"?). I'm wondering if my FP8 could run with that? One last question. Would I be able to use my current VSL1818 as a submixer? I just REALLY don't want to trash everything I have if I want to upgrade.
