Faderports and the new Input Gain in S1 v4.5

I am running the very latest updates to Faderport 8 and the orig faderport, and using S1 v4.5 on Win 8.1
When I go to Audio Inputs on the Faderport8 all my inputs (18) are showing up. The Faders go down to zero. When I assign the faders to Input gain I cannot bind the two. The faders do not change the input gain. Anyone else notice this?
However doing the same on the orig faderport Does work albeit one fader. It does bind the fader to the input gain. Very strange.
On the faderport8, with the link button switched ON, then hovering over input gain and moving the PAN knob does change the input gain.
