FaderPort 8 and FaderPort 16 General Discussion

I'm having an issue with my FP16. Sometimes the information shown in the scribble strips is not accurate with what's in Logic. The first four channels often display "static", randomness, or nothing. Not sure if this is a hardware or software issue. I have the latest firmware update for FP16, latest version of Logic X, and the FP16 is plugged into a powered USB port. Does anyone have any clue what could be the problem?
