Yep, it's somewhere in the setup menu and if you haven't ever run it, definitely do so. That may do the trick. Away from the PC now as well.

Hope you see an improvement.

looks like the calibration is automatic, after the firmware update...
per the manual....

Universal Control will alert you if there is new firmware available for
your FaderPort. Clicking on the Update Firmware button will begin the
update process. This process can take up to five minutes. At the end of
the firmware update, you will be prompted to reboot your FaderPort.
Once rebooted, your FaderPort faders may require recalibration. This is an automated
process. Do not interfere with or interrupt the fader calibration process.
Note: One of the Operating Modes must be selected to perform a firmware update

I made a video of how to do the update...but it did NOT seem to go thru a calibration mode..

Was just looking through the test modes
Setup/test/inputs.

I assume you have 2.01.

They have changed them and it looks like it’s manul tests.

More later.

yes I have 2.01.
When I updated, the manual suggests it will calibrate automatically. After the update was completed, it was immediately ready as soon as I booted up Studio One....(and the faderport again). If I remember, the faders moved around a bit and the lights flashed immediately afterwards...but honestly I don't remember for sure. My above video doesn't show that.

If so...that was probably the automatic calibration.

I am talking about going into setup mode and doing it manually.
Go to the test I outlined above.
Touch the fader ( it will light up in inverse) and then move the fader (number shows) and let us what you see.

The issue may also have to do with the part of your finger you touch the fader with. Depending on age, profession or even the instrument you’re playing the tip of your finger may have virtually no conductivity at all. Just a thought...

As per the test set up data, you can see a big difference between the fingernail and the actual skin.

I must be slow...but I'm not seeing a test described in a previous post.
That said...I've mucked around with the "touch sensitivity" a lot and nothing is changing. I get the lights to come on as I touch the faders, etc...in test mode... but the sensitivity when on "7" seems to be the best, but still isn't enough to recognize touching the backside of the fader.

Johnny G also tells me this is normal operation.

From Presonus support today...

Technical Support
Hello Chris,

It's hard to tell from your video exactly how you are touching the fader.

For clarification, if you attempt to move the fader with your fingernail the fader position will not update. The same can also potentially happen if you have a callus. This is likely why the fader is updating correctly whenever you touch the top of the fader.

The problem IS infact I was using my guitar, fretting hand, which DOES have callus' on my finger tips. My other hand works fine!! Yes...my fingernails don't work either.

Lastly...I give BIG props to PreSonus' reply to my support request on MONDAY, ...the first business day after my request was submitted. Good SHOW!!

I consider this solved. Chalk it up to being a guitar player .....lol !!!

For future reference the tests is setup/test/inputs.

Yes capacitance is changed due to the conductivity of your skin.

Switchback and I were trying to tell you that.

Glad you understand now.
