FaderPort 8 and FaderPort 16 General Discussion

All of a sudden I am no longer getting two way communication and this is making using Faderport impossible.

I have a FP16 and a FP8 giving me 24 faders. All has worked perfectly until the last 24 hours. What has gone wrong? I know it's not hardware related because it is happening to both.

I get no visual feedback on any Faderport buttons when I press them and yet they work in Studio One. For example, if I press the Zoom button it does not light up yet the scroll wheel now zooms in and out. If I press the Scroll button it does not light but the Rotary knob works as a scroll. Basically whatever I press on Faderport nothing changes visually at all.

If I go into setting in Studio One - Exernal Devices everything looks like it should. When I press the Reconnect button the hit OK suddenly faderport jumps to how it should look based on what buttons have been pressed. But nothing is solved. The problem persists. The only way I can get FP to update how it looks is by pressing Reconnect in Studio One Settings.

Any ideas. This is driving me mad. And I have a client coming in for a mix session tomorrow.

Please help. Everything is up to date software wise in terms of Studio One and Universal Control.

Try this on your FP8 and unplug the FP16.

Try switching modes.

Hi. Unfortunately this achieves nothing.
Well, nothing other than Studio One crashing.

And why can't I create a support ticket?

When I do I get this message

"sphere.presonus.com says

There was an error creating your ticket. Please try creating a ticket directly through our support portal"

Surely that's exactly where I am?

Howdy. Here's an update. I contacted support and the issue is now resolved. I had to go into Device Manager and delete any references to Presonus or Faderport, then restart the PC and re-install Universal Control.

No idea why this happened in the first place, but hopefully won't happen again.

I have the same problem with my faderport 8 "one way communication" and i read that the problem is solved by deleting the Presonus and Faderport 8 references from the devicemanager. Do i have to remove them from the Windows device manager or Studio one devicemanager ? Do i also have to disconnect my Atom, Faderport and AR-12 interface from the pc, before i reinstall Univsal control. What is the right way to do it ?
