Just bought an AR12 for a podcast recording studio. When talking into a Shure SM7B mic I get a good level (VU meters jump slightly into the yellow) but when it comes to recording onto the iMac, the levels are around 20db lower.

Here's the chain:
SM7B > FetHead preamp > XLR > AR12 > USB cable > iMac > Audacity DAW.

Any thoughts?
