i guess i'm a moron because i still can't figure out how to add a hardware compressor to the ar16. the manual is very unclear on quite a few issues. there is only an fx out, no send and return. is there a visual diagram how to connect outboard gear ???

Two basic options:
1. Channels 1 and 2 have inserts. Insert the trs end of a y-cable, then plug the tip side ts jack into your compressor's input and the ring side ts jack into your compressor's output. 2. For multiple channels into a shared compressor keep the faders on those channels down but send a submix of these channels to a monitor aux instead. The aux output goes to your compressor's input and the compressor's output goes to a free mixer channel. Use this compressed submix in your main mix. |
