StudioLive AR8, AR12 and AR16 Hybrid Mixers

I have carefully done the gain makup of all the sources connected to my AR 16 mixer, mainly to have good recordind (SD card - USB) levels.

But to achieve that I must set the input gain of the connected Presonus Eris E5 monitors near zero to have a confortable volume (not too high).

1) It is strange that products of the same company doesn't pair better than that.
2) Is it a problem for sound quality or for the Eris to work at so low input gain?
EDIT: 3) Is there some (adjustable) passive attenuator I can connect on mixer outputs (The Eris E5 doesn't have front gain)?

Thanks

Try using the control room output, it has a pot for setting the level where you want pre main fader

control room out is really designed to be sent to the studio monitors

Yes, you are right... but I use Control Room as stereo "monitor" to send soloed instruments to a sampler input.
Thanks anyway for advise.

If a mono input to the sampler would work, you you use an AUX out to send channels to the sampler (mon for pre fader, fx if you want post fader)

Otherwise you'd need an extra device (small 2 channel mixer maybe) between the main out and monitors to give yourself a pot or fader to attenuate before the speakers, that way you could set the speakers to zero and turn it up and down with a pot/fader

Yes excellent.
The problem with monitor is I must potentially move a lot of pots to select only one instrument.
I will try to find a "one stereo channel" mixer :D
Thanks
