Hello all,
Just bought a CS18ai and love having faders under my fingers. Does any know if it's possible to have Studio One follow the channel I select on the CS18? Right now I need to do a lot of scrolling when working with larger sessions. |
I can confirm that it works, but for me it probably works because I am using several connections. First is the FireWire connection from RM rack mixer to computer, second is an AVB network. AVB switch, router, CS controller and RM are connected via CAT5e cables. Additionally there is a wireless network (dynamic addresses) for remote control (iPad/Studio One Remote), which the Mac uses to "join" UCNET. Being connected to the same network makes CS and Studio One available in UCNET, therefore they connect automatically..
I never checked how a direct connection between CS and computer/Studio One works, so hopefully somebody of the studio specialists will join for an answer... |
Hi. Planning to buy studio one and already have CS18AI.
But, as I understand, console window does not jump to the selected track. I saw video with faderport 8 and the console window is jump to the selected track. Video with this function (7:05) : Is it real with CS18AI? Without this function it will be inconvenient. |
As an owner of CS18AI you should already own Studio One, which you can update to the latest version of S1 (Artist). Not sure if the upgrade is free, but at least it's possible.
I do not own a CS18AI and a RM AI rack mixer anymore, so I can't really answer your question. But my post before your post seems to say that the CS18AI can not deliver what you are looking for. The Faderport is definitely a better Studio One controller. Studio One Remote is always a good additional control option. The CS18AI DAW integration is limited. There are now the other two protocols following, but their functionality is even more limited, as the integration to the Series III mixers shows. The CS18AI is what it is, a discontinued product. |
After about one year with CS18AI I decided to order a script from the programmer.
Mixer communicates with the computer over the network, which means that when you press the select button, a certain data packet comes to the computer. So, I decided to catch this packages and then trigger pressing the TAB key (Show in console hotkey). MixTrigger.exe - script (work in hide mode) MixTrigger.exe.config - config file. You can open it via text editor and edit local ip of your console and chooe the hotkey.
CloseTrigger - close this script. Or you can kill it in Task Manager Keys.txt - list of keys you can use You can put this script to autoload with the system 1) create a script shortcut 2) Win + R 3) enter - shell:startup 4) drag your shortcut in opened window Enjoy!
