Good evening all - I just ordered the cs18 and I'm curious if I am only going to use this in my studio as a control surface for studio one do I just connect it to my Mac via the Ethernet cable and that is it or do I need the router and all that stuff that goes along with connecting to the RM
Thanks for any help

I use a router, mainly so I can bounce between controlling the daw, and controlling the RM. Its not mandatory though.

ok well i have watched all the videos , read all the material several times , sent several emails back and forth with presonus support including all info and Mac system report file , went out and purchased an ethernet switch as support assured me this would fix things , spent 2 days on hold for phone support for 1.5 hrs and 2 and never did either call get taken. and still the cs18 will not see studio one under software control. all firmware is up to date and the board shows an ip under the wired connection tab. super disappointed and frustrated with presonus at the moment and i guess only option id to box this up and return it which sucks because i was looking forward to having it as my control surface. how is it the much cheaper faderports can work flawlessly with studio one but this board is giving me so much grief. anyhows tx for letting me vent lol and unless someone comes thru with a mircle for me back to presonus it goes

Miracle on the way. Not really a miracle, but we'll get you squared away. We will update the solution here for others that may be watching.

A miracle is always welcome... ;-) Hopefully it solves the problems many people had with CS/S1.

In the meantime let me point you to a post in a thread dealing with CS/S1: https://forums.presonus.com/viewtopic.php?p=124397#p124397. There is another post in this thread worth reading: https://forums.presonus.com/viewtopic.php?p=87791#p87791. The whole thread is "CS18Ai issues - SOLVED": https://forums.presonus.com/viewtopic.php?f=233&t=15661.

You read the manual? Section 2.3 and especially 2.3.1 and 2.3.2? The "StudioLive CS18AI Owner's Manual" can be found here: http://www.presonus.com/support/downloads/StudioLive-CS18AI.

I don't find any information what Mac and OS you use and which version of Studio One is involved. I am no specialist in this kind of things but if I have understood it right OS must be 10.9 or higher and S1 version 3.2 or higher.

By the way: The latest firmware version of CS18AI is v9203. Hope this helps.
