Discuss the new PreSonus CS18Ai

I was checking my slave/master configuration with my PA and just plugged a CD player into slave RM32AI on channels 32 and 32, which are channels 63 and 64 in the AVB network and show up on channels 31 and 32 on master RM16AI at FOH. They did - until I got the CS18AI involved... There was a signal on the slave RM, but no signal on the master RM and therefore not in PA and auxes any longer!

I have to admit that it took quite some time to understand this "mistake", but finally I remembered that CS18AI AVB inputs 1 and 2 (XLR) occupy inputs 31 and 32 of the (master) RM, while AVB inputs 3 to 4 (TRS) use the Digital Return channels.

As the manual says in section 2.4 and 2.4.1:

"Mic/Line input 1/TB is assigned as the source for the StudioLive RM mixer Talkback. It will also be available as the network source for Input 31 of the RM mixer. Mic/Line input 2 is unassigned by default but will be available as the network source for Input 32 of the RM mixer. Line inputs 3 and 4 are assigned as the stereo Digital Return input of the RM mixer."

Hope this helps somebody.

;-)
