Remote control mic pres from within the daw? My wife just got a chill down her spine, and has no idea why.

Is this finally a replacement for the FireStudio 2626? I guess no cute remote volume/speaker switch/headphone box like we have for the FS2626 :(

Looks that way, but read the brochure. Talkback and speaker control from within the DAW for S1, and UC Surface control for other daws.

Here's a quick thought....
If the 192 is using the same digitally controlled Xmax pres as the RM's, and the RM's have multiple outputs like the 192; what are the odds that we see the same level of control and integration between the RM's and S1v3, as we are seeing advertised with the 192? :?: :D

like hook up an extra set of monitors to the aux outs and use the new speaker integrated switching to switch between monitors. use the newly integrated trim knob to control the preamps etc. Talk back as well. I mean if the 192 works with UC surface, then one could logically assume that they are built on the same protocals. Of course you know what happens when we assume. LOL

No Midi?...So no way to connect to external gear?
User avatar
by PreSonuSales2 on Fri Apr 17, 2015 3:14 pm
Unfortunately, no MIDI. This is simply due to the fact that in order to make this unit expandable with other units and capable of handling a large amount of inputs/outputs for its 1U rack space size, we had to sacrifice the real estate where a MIDI connection might go. However, this does not mean that there is no way to connect to external gear. There's still a multitude of ways to connect the Studio 192 to external gear, depending on the external gear.

I am taking a train tomorrow from Frankfurt to Hamburg to meet with the StudioOne team. I'll ask them about this to see if it's possible. Agreed, it would be freaking cool.

I think direct access to the outputs would do it. The aux outputs that is.

Well the good news is that from a technical standpoint, this is possible. I don't know what the timeline on this would be for the RM Mixers, but I would think that it is something that we would like to do in the near future.

This is great news! Keep us updated! Now I can free up some valuable real estate on my desk, by trading in my 16.4.2ai towards an RM16, then purchase the CS18ai for a complete integrated studio solution.

Other than being expandable, is there a quality difference to the fire studio project? I understand many of the specs of the 192 and the differences from the project, but an answer I can't really seem to find is if it is an upgrade sound quality wise from the fire studio project?
