I'm seeing LOTS of accolades for the quality of sound, and user-friendliness, and flexibility, but I haven't read any reviews about how it transmits/recvs MIDI, only a glancing comment or 2 that it has NO MIDI ports. My initial thought there was that it's just simply transmitted over the USB cable, however, I would HATE to assume before buying it, and then getting my feelings REALLY hurt. I read everything about it on the home site page, but never saw anything about MIDI. Can someone at PreSonus please confirm just what the facts are, please?

what do you mean? transmitted from where to where? do you have any midi device with midi output only? otherwise I don't see why you are bothering with this.

Yes. My workstation keyboard uses MIDI. My entire work process starts with MIDI.

OK. I've discovered that my current MOBO won't support T'bolt platform, and since the 192 doesn't offer MIDI, is the following scenario possible? Because I want to keep my FaderPort8 could I use 1 of the rackmount mixers, then connect a MIDI to USB cable from my keyboard directly to my PC as a separate MIDI In/Out? Or am I still missing something? Would I use the ASIO4ALL to transmit MIDI to a s'synth, and back thru the rackmount mix to hear that playback? Please have patience with me.

The 192 doesn't offer midi in/out, but the DP88 does. However you should just be able to use the midi to usb method just fine. No need for ASIO4All

So, just to vfy Matthew, I get you are saying the DP88 has MIDI, but I'd really prefer the 192. What you are confirming is that if I use the MIDI to USB with ASIO4ALL between my keyboard Wrkstn directly to my PC that should be fine? Correct? :?:

You don't need ASIO4ALL (technically, it is an unsupported app).

USB midi has no bearing on using a regular interface. They will work fine together. I mentioned the DP88, as that is a preamp that would connect to the 192 for more inputs and midi.

Just to clarify, the DP88 doesn't have an actual MIDI port. The included MIDI for the DP88 is for HUI control of the recallable preamps, that's it. If wanting to send/receive MIDI data for keyboards, electronic drums, etc. you'll need an additional MIDI interface such as a simple 2x2 MIDI 5pin to USB. I own the Studio192 and DP88 and personally have to use my Maschine MKII as a MIDI interface.
