Discuss the new Studio 192 and Studio 192 Mobile here

Backstory:
-before new mixer GUI was introduced, UC surface and Universal Control with a Studio192 interface worked together as expected
-after UC & UC Surface update, UC Surface could not connect to UC on pc anymore, except when win10 firewall was turned off completely. App-specific firewall settings were ineffective.
-no going back on ipad so I had to live with a vulnerable computer when using UC Surface....

-then one day UC Surface on ipad stopped connecting to universal control again. (reason: automated updates not switched off in ipad settings.. my bad, won't happen again) ...so, no going back - again - and I was forced to go the treacherous update route one more time.
-so updated to UC 44119 on win10 machine
-that also demanded a firmware update for Studio192
-after that I finally could get UC Surface and UC to connect again (still necessary to switch off firewall though [by the way: this is not necessary with Studio One RC])

Now the Problem:
This Studio192 firmware update changed something in the SPDIF port and now I get weird downsamling-like noises in one or sometimes both channels at 44.1 kHz. (interestingly not at 48k)

after rolling back to uc43544, SPDIF is clean again, but UC Surface does of course not connect.

Solution?

PS: "work in 48k then..." is not the answer I am looking for! :-)

PS2: I use the SPDIF port in a very specific way: The SPDIF output is directly connected to the SPDIF input via cable to be able to digitally record a stereo output in a kind of loopback-ish manner. So the problem can not be caused by another device's SPDIF syncing issues or something. It has to be a self induced internal syncing problem.

kind regards

well, thanks for nothing, I guess..

This should be taken serious though. It's a thing now. Another thread with firmware related SPDIF issues: viewtopic.php?f=232&t=26999

PC: Win10 x64 uptodate
[iPad: iOS 9.3.5]

Also I think I need to clarify:
Whenever I talked about "UC Surface" I meant the iPad App and when I used "UC" or "Universal Control" I meant the PC App.

by the way:
UC v.2.3. uses same Studio 192 Firmware (v1.7-7) as UC v2.2 => so still SPDIF issues

Same here
iMac OS X 10.12 newest driver and studio 192 firmware.
USB 3 connection
Problem appears only on spdif input but on all sample rates.
spdif out is ok.
Any ideas ?

no new firmware with UC v.2.4. (still version 1.7-7) => SPDIF remains broken

@alexduerr:
uninstall your current UC Surface version and install v2.1.1 instead.
https://www-media-presonus.netdna-ssl.c ... -43544.exe
It's the last one with a working SPDIF Port.
best regards

Happy to report that firmware version 1.8-31 [introduced with UC v2.51 (45526)] fixes the SPDIF issues on my end.
Thanks to everyone involved!
