I have been using the studio 192 for awhile and it has been working great.
I added the DP88 hooked everything up and everything works,
via adat cables with external clock set to adat on the dp88 and
in UC set to internal but there is a lot of digital noise.

I switched the clock source of the p192 in UC to adat, as suggested.
it says sync then switches to no lock
the p192 and DP88 have a blinking red/blue ring after the the clock switch

I feel like I'm missing one simple step,

Something seems off to me also, but I can't put my finger on it.

Can you post pics of the config screens, and maybe of the front of the units with their settings? Also, please list the UC version and firmware you have installed on your system.

I figured it out, I had bad adat cables. I switched them out and everything was perfect.

could you please tell me what ADAT Cable brand name you used to fix your problem?
Does your ADAT cable comes with TOSLINK plugs?
