I tried to connect directly to PC Ethernet. the RM appeared to not like this and caused all my settings to be reset. my wifi router is on the second floor of my house and mt studio is in the basement (PC and RM connect to network via WIFI ) I could try running a couple of cables to the router .

I read somewhere that the newest firmware only supports Ethernet connection to the AI consoles on a one to one basis (temporary I understand) .

not sure about connecting the 2 devices (RM and PC ) to a router.

Since at this time I am only using the RM in my home studio for personal drum practice. And I have the most recent Scene saved from before the Firmware update. I am thinking I will just ride it out . and hopefully the backup situation is fixed in the next update.

I would just like to have a backup in case of catastrophic failure. which is more likely to happen since I am not backed up (thanks to Murphy and his dumb Law)

can anyone confirm connection and control of RM with Ethernet over standard network with 6184 installed

I can confirm standard ethernet works for control with the latest firmware, I used it last weekend.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Sometimes creating a backup just simply doesn't do anything. It takes 1.5 minutes to run a backup, but afterwards nothing is added to the list. I've resolved this sometimes by starting UC Surface. But I have another more problematic bug and that is the restore is not working at all. It takes about 15 seconds to restore, but afterwards nothing has happened. Seems like another bug in RM. I'm little upset about that, one of the major features of a digital mixing desk is the possibility to backup and restore instead of writing down all values...

I have similar problem. Mac Yosemite fw connected Rm32. Run backup. Does something & displays file names during backup but backup file is not displayed in UC Surface so cannot perform restore.

Have uninstalled/reinstalled UC Surface (version just before AVB release) makes no difference. Have repaired all permissions. & retried to get same result.

Will try from windows touch & see what happens. I'll let you know.
Anyone got a definitive solution on Mac or a ticket open with support ?

Just tried to run backup again . first time since installing 1.3 . took 5 minutes to run looked like it was doing something but once completted . Its the same old story no backup is created the window where backup should be is blank. is anybody else having this issue or is it just me. UPDATE I found the backup folder . it says it was modified today at the time I asked UC Surface to perform a backup operation. but the file is empty no backup was actually created the file is located here on my windows 7 machine

C:\Users\57TH AVE STUDIOS\Documents\PreSonus\StudioLive AI\Library\Presets\Backup

after locating this file I tried to run uc backup again while backup is running . Windows shows temp files building in this location labled FX, GEQ,FAT . but after backup completes temp file disappears and no files are left folder is empty.

Bebop should be working via firewire and ethernet.

There are tabs for the backups, mixer and local. Possibke that you are creating the backup to the mixer and not the pc? That would explain temp files disappearing from the pc.

the Local and Mixer tabs you speak of are for scene saving. I see no tabs on backup screen (see previously attached Photo )

Contaced Presonus started a support ticket. got a response in less than an hour . suggested a factory reset. pull out option card power mixer on with firmware files on USB . ran firmware update/factory reset . it is working now . I was able to save the scene to my pc in the local tab . then load that scene after reset procedure . worked same as a backup. everything is as it was before the reset procedure . except that the backup function now works . Thanks Presonus Tech
