I have a firewire Studiolive RML 16 AI and it works ok with an iMac 27 Late 2013 with a Firewire to Thunderbolt 2 adapter. Now I bought a new iMac that only has Thunderbolt 3 ports (USB C)
There is a TB 3 to TB 2 adapter but the guys at apple said that it will not work.
Have anybody an experience with this?

If your new iMac is an M1 machine, this quote from Knowledge Base will confirm what "the guys at apple" said:

"StudioLive AI-Series mixers and rack mixers will not work with Apple Silicon Macs. There are no plans to develop a driver to enable 1394 to connect to these machines. We will continue to support Intel-based Macs. StudioLive Ai will continue to be supported on the Windows 10 platform."

I got these 2 guys to connect me RM32AI mixer to my PC with thunderbolt. They worked for me until my RM32AI decided to become a brick last month...

Please please please elaborate!!! I have an rml32ai that I wish I had never gotten due to its firewire capabilities.. I am no longer a drinker of the apple koolaid and switched to pc's with a firewire card. While it works fine, I would like to squeeze as much latency out of this to work with my v-drums a little better.
I have both adaptors, and the ASUS thunderboltex 4 plugged into my tb header, but nothing talks to it.

I used those 2 adapters into my ThinkPad's thunderbolt port. Unfortunately I cannot explain how they worked, they just did. I cannot attest to the latency as I used it for multitrack recording clients and never had anyone complain about it. I really wished presonus didn't turn their backs on older devices. Espically one that was quite expensive and has an EXPANSION SLOT!!!
I still have the Cs18ai that I have no use for, if you're interested!

Intel officially does not support Thunderbolt 2 with Thunderbolt 4 on PC.

It must be TB3 or TB2.
