RM32AI MIDI In/Out workable with any firmware

With the original purchase of the RM32AI when they first came out, i was sooo looking forward to interfacing with its soon-to-be MIDI capabilities. After nothing for a long time, I stopped looking and/or hoping about a year ago. Is it Safe to assume that the MIDI In/Out ports on the RM32AI are still not functional with any firmware? Anyone happen to know any way to access its MIDI IO use, or is the current status of the MIDI IO ports on the back of the unit just set to look pretty?

As you might know, the RM mixers are now being traded in for the new Series III mixers. I wonder if it would make sense to add additional value to a phased-out model.

Ha by that statement, I'm going to assume no midi access in th RM32AI then, damn.
