StudioLive RM32Ai and RM16Ai Mixers & UC Surface with QMix Ai

I have RM32ai working flawlessly with laptop/firewire.
...with universal control, capture, Studio One 3 etc.

I picked up an old FirePod FP10 and would like to use it for recording
some quick and dirty mobile tracks.

I DO NOT want to screw current setup with potential driver conflicts!

Any known issues or advice?

I also have a classic 24.4.2, which had compatibility issues with RM32.
which is why I'm asking.

never heard if this was resolved.
Thanks
Bob

The incompatibilty problem of the Studio Live mixers has been solved ages ago, both UC versions can run on one computer - but not simultaneously. You can use either the legacy UC (SL 24.4.2) or the present UC (RM32AI). If FireWire is important for your workflow, go for UC 1.8 or UC 1.8.3 because of the "FireWire lag" of UC 2.x, which makes the signal of UC unusable. It is possible to run UC 1.8.x on your computer and UC 2.5.x on a tablet parallel, because they share the same firmware version.

Thanks Wahlerstudio,

To be safe I installed the firepod on older laptop for now. (more versatile anyway)

Loaded studio one artist on laptop to test.

I recorded simple vocal test track into studio one and playback was fine.
When in imported a track previously recorded in capture with RM32AI (48 kHz 24 bit)
the track plays really slow (sounds like almost half speed).
The FP10) control panel is set for 48 kHz and the song setup in Studio One is 48 kHz.
??? Not sure what I'm missing.

If I switch audio device in studio one to windows audio, it plays through laptop speakers at
correct speed.
Thanks
Bob

Upon further testing, speed is slow. After setting "speedup to about 1.5 the speed sounds close, but there is still a
static like distortion on the playback.
when I switch audio device to windows audio, playback is perfect.

I think this is a question for the Studio One specialists in their forum. I have heard of the problem, but I don't think it has to do with the hardware.
