I have an iTwo audio interface, and I am impressed with the H/W. I normally connect the iTwo to my desktop USB, which supplies adequate power to the interface. I am having some issues with my i5 tablet PC, when I connect the interface to the USB port, all I get is a blue blinking light. I am assuming it is a power issue. I have a USB 2.4 amp wall charger that provides 12 watts to the iTwo when I use a iPad connected to the iPad device port. What I need help with is connecting to a portable device (Like a Laptop or Tablet PC that does not supply enough watts to power the iTwo.
How to I connect data and power to such a device?

Any advice/recommendations would be most appreciated.

Blue flashing light is a sync issue. Needs the driver loaded on the tablet, and I'm not sure that Win tablets are supported. Ipads are different and dont require a driver. the ione and two are MFI devices and can operate on ipads without drivers (MFI=Made For Ipad).

The Microsoft Surface Pro is basically an i5 Laptop, some laptops don't have enough wattage output. My desktop USB port provides 1900 ma. or (1.9 amps x 5v) which is approx. 9.5 watts.
Which works for the iTwo. I am not using the MFI device port, but am trying to use the Type 'B' port on the iTwo to connect the surface Pro.

Windows operates differently and requires a driver install. Processor becomes important with that. If its really an i5 it should load. I would try to install the i2 driver on the Surface Pro, and then connect.

Hello, I'm a little confused. Are you running your Micorsoft Surface as a "hackintosh" on Mavericks? :?:

Yes, I am running Mavericks 10.9.5 on my Surface Pro, with full touchscreen capabilities. I am assuming since the iTwo in OS X uses "Core Audio" that the blinking power light is due to the surface not having enough wattage output from it's USB port. Will a high wattage powered USB hub work to power and pass data to and from the iTwo?

Not meant to be ignorant (I am honestly curios): Is that supported by either Mac or Microsoft?

No, OS X is not supported on the Surface Pro, but neither is Linux. I obtained OS X legally, from Apple's own App Store. The issue is not which OS is running on the Tablet, The same problem would happen if I was running Windows 8. Not enough wattage output from the USB Port. I am just wondering if a powered USB Hub could be used to supply the power and pass through data?

BTW, I also have a 8 core Mac Pro 3,1 upgraded with Yosemite 10.10.3, 4 SSD's a Nvidia GTX 650 video card and 8 GB RAM, that works great with my AudioBox iTwo. ;)

I finally got my iTwo audio interface to work with my Microsoft Surface Pro 1 with OS X Mavericks!
I used this USB Y cable from TigerDirect http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... 5&CatId=77:

Image

I plugged the Red USB connector into a 2.4 A. (12 Watt) USB charger, and the other end into my Surface Pro, power it on, and it worked!

If anyone is having similar problems getting sufficient power from their Laptop, try this method.

I was having trouble with my iTwo Audio interface not being recognized by my computer and also was have the intermittent blinking power light.

I had tried a new cable and also plugged into the wall but they did not work.
I am thinking there was a Windows update that caused the issue. So, I upgraded my Universal Control driver to the latest firmware v1.33.

I had been plugged into a my USB 3.0 hub for the longest time and did not have trouble until today.
I used the same USB cable that has been with the interface but now I plugged into USB 2.
And it works!

Hopefully, this will work for those who are having trouble with this older device. I love mine and would buy it in a second because I use it as an interface with my Ipad. What a fabulous addition that was taken away with the new versions.

Anyways, Cheers!!
