Hi Folks,

when just a instrument cable is connected to the iTwo (or also with a e-guitar) I allways have a loud background noise (this happens on both channels).
I tried 2 different guitars and 4 different cables.

The noise is there, no matter if the iTwo is connect to MAC, PC or iPad 4.

You can listen to that noise on zippyshare

This is a wiring diagram how I connect with iPad 4:

Some presets on Aplitube 3 I can not use, cause the noise is too loud!

With a 48v MIC there is no noise.

Thank you,
Herb

Then the problem is NOT your iTwo!!

Your guitars may not be properly shielded. And as for some Amplitube presets being noisy....well they just are. Many high gain settings in ALL ampsims are noisy....just like the same settings on real amps

But: why is there that noise, when JUST the guitar-cable is connected (remember: I try 2 guitars and 4 good-to-hight-quality cables)?
Today I've tested another Audiointerface (not an iTwo) - same cables, same guitars and: NO noise...

In your daw go to the audio options and turn off the multiprocessing. For some reason I had the same problem until I switched it off. And I updated the firmware. Fixed all noise problems. Don't know which one fixed it but do both anyway...

I tried switching off the multi-processing but still have all the noise. Actually, I have a bunch of noise even when not connected to the recording software. For fun, I plugged the usb power supply to my power supply/filter for my stereo and still got a bunch of noise with just the mic and headphones plugged in.

I plugged the mic with and without headphones into my guitar amp (also has phantom power). And wow, the mic sounded absolutely great. Zero background noise and clear, crisp, deep tones, really what I expected. What's wrong with my ITWO?
