Hi,

I am a new user for the audiobox & studio one software.
I mainly want to use it for guitar stuff via my pc.
Since I also got all these great synth sounds with my package I would also like to buy a small mini midi keyboard like the Akai lpk25 or mpk II.

I think I have a problem with the connection though. All these small keyboards use USB connection for Midi as well as phantom power.
Now the midi issue can be solved by a usb to midi cable to connect it to the audiobox I guess, but what about the phantom power?

What are the options?
-can I use such a midi usb keyboard in combination with the audiobox?
-Or can I possibly use it connected to usb on my pc?
-Or should i get a small keyboard with midi connections (havent found one yet)

Thanks
Tom

Well Tom.....you've basically answered your own questions!

1) Yes....BUT you do not connect the keyboard directly to the Audiobox UNLESS
you are using a keyboard with standard 5-pin MIDI DIN output. You might have
noticed....both the Audiobox and USB keyboards have USB B type connectors
you cannot physically connect them and even if you could the NEITHER would
be connected to your pc!

2) Yes....you can connect BOTH the Audiobox AND USB keyboard to your pc
via USB and use them together.

3) Yes.....personally I prefer keyboards with ACTUAL MIDI outs. That way they are connected
directly to your interface and you're only using a single connection and one set of drivers
for the Audiobox. With a separate USB keyboard you'll be using one set of drivers for the
Audiobox and audio recording and a second set of drivers for MIDI. Sometimes this can cause
conflicts/
