We have a 24 Chanel desk and perform with a certain amount of echo and reverb on the vocals.
In between numbers if the singer wants to speak to the audience these effects need to be turned off. Most desks I have used have a foot switch.
How can this be done on the PreSonus

As fa as I know the only mixers with a footswitch port are the AR8 USB, AR12 USB and AR 16 USB. The RM/RML rack mixers have Midi ports (planned to be functional in 2017) as well as the SL 16.0.2., which is still on sale, but its design and software is already "historic". ;-)

Usually you would use the on/off buttons on FX sends or returns to mute/unmute effects. This can also done with the remote software on an iPad or iPhone, allowing you to create "Mute Groups", which can contain any input or output channel in any combination.

Another advantage is that you don't need a mixer located next to you. You can adust EVERYTHING by a tablet fixed to your microhone stand...
