Hi all,
I know this is not a Presonus issue, but I'm hoping that maybe someone here with a whole lot more knowledge than me may be able to offer some insight. I've got two Audix F15 condenser mics, use them for overheads or guitar amp micing typically. Recently one of them has developed a nasty crackle, it's especially bad when it's first fired up, and seems to get slightly better when the mic 'warms up'. The other one is perfect, I've tried different leads, different desks etc, and the issue definitely follows the mic. I've been told that sometimes a bit of dust can get in there and cause some issues? The mics have always been stored in a bag when not in use. I can upload an audio clip of the issue if it would help narrow down what's going on. Any thoughts or further info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks heaps. |
A dry solder joint or a failing component would cause that.
