She knows when it doesn't sound right (half the battle) I'm still trying to teach her how to fix it, she'll get it in time. . . hehe

I haven't had time to describe the gig (or wedding) in much detail, but I used my driverack 260 to create a seperate mono system for the outside speakers, so in the center using the turbosounds and kilomax subs I had a great hifi stereo system, then as you walk to the out side (either side) you flip over to the seperate mono system using driverack A+B out 5 for the highs and 6 for the lows, each plugged into a parreled amp to run both sides. Everyone I described the system to before the show said I was crazy and that it would never work, but then when they actually came and saw it, they all admitted that it was genius and it worked great! The idea was for me, using the very few speakers I had (and barrowed) to create the largest area of great sound. Using the SL's Smaart was truly what made it all happen so smoothly (very different speakers, very similar sound) and it was very important to split the speakers so that they overlaped as minimaly as possible.

My sound company is me and my wife together as well, very much as you described. She took a class on audio engineering at the local college and I try to teach her what I can, but nothing can compare to over 20 years of writing, recording, playing, and mixing music. But it's fun to have something like this to do together, and even better to have someone else with me 4 hours before the gig to help. And she's MUCH butter at running mic cables cleanly than I am. LOL

I had to chime in on this. Recently, I was hired to be the sound engineer for a show in which my wife would be performing. All went well. After the show was done, the performers got out of the theater as fast as they could. I, and the rest of the house crew were left with a lot of cleanup. A few minutes later, my wife walks in and asks if she can help. I put her to work coiling mic cables. Being related to me, she knows how to do it properly. The tech director then walks in and makes the observation: "Stage hand spouses are just the greatest!" Wow, did she score points for me with that venue.

Just kidding, but I am drooling over that thing, I will be saving my pennys for that for sure, I have been wanting to control the preamps with my iPad every gig I do, ticks me off every time I have to touch the actual board so this RM32AI should really be the ticket for me, Woo Hoo!

Make her carry the 1642 to all the gigs. That's how. Problem is, she sounds too smart to fall for it.

Another way to do it. Make a bunch more posts about how great she is, and leave it open on the PC so she can see it.
