Using S1 I´m looking for a lot larger computer screen to minimise constant scrolling back and forth in large projects and to be able to see more mixer channels at the same time.

This should get me about the same screen estate as 2 normal sized monitors:

Is this screen likely to work well together with S1?

Thanks

Excellent
Top notch.
You will really love 4 HD screens equivalents on one screen.

Thanks. I´m a bit worried that I´ll have to squint (is that the right word?) my eyes to be able to see everything, because I´ve noticed that high screen resolution often makes GUIs very small. I´m not sure what I´m looking for technically speaking to explain what I mean.

Do you understand what I´m talking about and do you think thats a problem with this monitor?

Maybe there is some spec with my laptop that one should know if this monitor works with S1? I´m using a Dell XPS15 9550 laptop with 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) display, http://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/pro ... 550-laptop

You can scale the whole screen. so up it to 125% to make more readable.
You do sit closer.

I bought a regular HD TV 45" that was around $200. I need to use reading glasses for lot of things but with this screen I don't.

So I just have a regular screen that's blown up really big, looks great to me.

If I put my glasses on I can see that the pixels are not really sharp like a computer monitor.

Perfect in my situation. Nod is as good as a wink and all.

That's my experience also. But if you buy a good quality HD television with small pixels it can look just like a computer monitor. When I got my Sony television a few years ago I tested it with computer games and found it was every bit as good as a computer monitor.
But it's only 42 inch and most of the larger /cheaper models had bigger pixels.

This is a really good example of why you should try before you buy. Technology is changing quickly. Do you suppose your local electronics store would let you walk in with a laptop and try a few models?

The OP is talking about s 4K screen.
That is 4 HD screens in terms of pixels.

Yeah, I get that.... and it *should* be very good..... but just like the days when everyone was going bonkers over the "new" HD monitors and TVs, not all are created equal. If you can demo one before you buy, it takes a lot of the risk out of the equation.

This

I went from 2 x 21.5" 1920x1080 to a single 43" 4K. Everything is the same physical size, with twice as much display area.

I could never go back.

My 4K is VIZIO E43-D2 -- https://www.vizio.com/e43d2.html

I did buy different legs/stand for it.
