Loaded that instrument on a current song to try it for you.
No clicking anywhere, especially on D#3 (I checked the midi notes). ;)
My keyboard does split the range since it's apparently a certain ranged instrument.

It's not just you.. it's totally clicking! How are other people not hearing that? Also a bad click on A3 nearer to the start of the sample.

I figured I'd be able to fix things like this with the Presence XT Editor, but you can't edit any of the presets in the existing soundsets.. they're won't even open in the editor! You can only use it to create new sounds :(

So I don't hear clicks on my Win 10 64 system. What operating systems are you all on that are hearing clicks?

I'm on Windows 10 64 bit. How should this issue have to do with the OS? It's some notes only, and apparantly even the same notes.

The two mentioned notes in this thread is totally clicking at a point after the first attack.

Also F2 and especially E2 are very noisy in the sustain phase.

A long time ago i have reported clicking issues on release on some samples. Some of the samples clearly need improvement.

So i can confirm too. No need you think it's about your system. It's not.

So that's 2 users who hear clicking on the stated 'clarinet' patch and 2 who don't.

There are other settings that may affect this such as sound card settings, CPU load due to number and type/mfgr of instruments loaded, size of song/project, PC Ram, etc.

Then there's there's the PC:

Thanks for clarifying your system specs.
There are many times when an issue can relate to an operating system. In this post, both of you that experienced the issue did not list your specs. That's why I asked.

I agree with Scottyo7 about all the other things that could be causing this on your systems since it if not happening on others. Maybe test with a new song with only 1 track to see if that makes a difference.
I tested it that way w/o an issue. That's a good place to start IMO.

Windows 10 64bit here.. pretty sure it's nothing to do with operating system or anything like that.

Maybe Presonus fixed this and some of us have a different version of the "Studio One Instruments Vol 2.soundset" file?

People who don't hear any clicking playing D#3 or A3 with the clarinet sound.. what's the last modified date for the preset when you select it in the browser?

On my system it's June 22 '09.

[edit] Now that I think about it.. the audio samples referenced by the preset could have been fixed while leaving the preset itself (and therefore also the "last modified" date) unchanged. [/edit]

Hm..bit of a concern if S1's rendering of a preset sound on a built-in instrument isn't consistent on different systems.

Attached is a test .song file and a corresponding 48kHz 16bit mixdown .wav, in case you're wondering what we're hearing.

I've got a couple of other machines to test on, so I might do some more investigating later.

 Thanks for confirming the issue Chris. I have the same clicking at exactly the same spot.

I also don't think it's an OS or HW related issue so I skip that.

I have attached a screen cap that shows the clicking visually and I have marked the clicks.
They are visible at around 0.400ms, 2 sample cycles, between markers 1 and 2.

I have eliminated the click in D3# with altering the envelopes and sample offsets in S1, which makes is less audible until Presonus finds a way to fix it.
The clicking happens between sample offset 20000-25000 so I set the `Sample Start Mod` to 30000 and set Attack (Amp Envelope) to 200ms,

I hope this info helps.

Edit:

Just to be clear...
We're not saying that you're hearing things. ;)

But some don't hear it either (like me) it as you state.

So...
You can try to log it for a possible fix/review by following the process below.

Scott, could you please post the clean sample you hear, just to be clear that you are using the right instrument with the right note.

There are 2 clicks. I can hear them in that file you have rendered.
1st at 0,872 s.
2nd at 1,875 s.

I can also see them in Sound Forge wave form visually.
Apparently you have the defected sample library just like we do.

I'd bet you'll get this sorted out by then but if not I'll post a sound sample of "just the clarinet". ;)

I hear it now!

So sorry I did not hear it before. It is right after the second note and sounds like a click.

I am at a different PC with really cheap speakers and it is audible. I'll go back to my studio and re-check.

I contacted Presonus tech support and they confirmed the clicking issue.
They said it was a known issue and rest assured that the team is aware of it.
