I couldn't see a separate topic on this and I think it's important to keep it visible, as I now see numerous users have encountered the exact same problem as me.

- I have Melodyne 4.0.4.001 (64 bit) and 'check for updates' tells me it is the latest version.
- I only install stuff to suggested directories, i.e. not custom.

This morning I attempted to roll back to build 3.2.3.38191 but the same collapse happened at the same place. I then used Control Panel to uninstall all S1 versions (V2 was still there). I then re-ran build 3.2.3.38191 and thankfully that did the trick.

I'll now sit tight and await the 3.3 fix for this, as one of the moderators confirmed this was under examination.

The problem what some users have is very simple:
It is an older version of Melodyne from one year ago that is currently incompatible to 3.3

So for all to know: No current version and all full updated users will have issues!

We are looking for a solution.

Well, after updating using the latest installer for 3.3 I get ugly crashes right on starting Studio One 3.3 Pro x64. It won't start at all!! That's REALLY bad!

It seems that the cause is Melodyne 4 somehow. But I can't figure out why. Installed the latest Melodyne update just in case but that doesn't fix the issue.

Could you please help me make Studio One work again??

Crash.jpg
It's strange that Melodyne integration is listed THREE times?! How can that be? Maybe this is the reason why it crashes??

I am having the same problem. Put in a ticket request about it - hope to get an answer soon as I can't wait to try out the Notion/Studio One sharing features.

Thanks. Yes I did post a ticket so I hope they will get back on this issue very soon. Currently I can't even start Studio One :(

But as you are having the same issue it's not my system or at least there really is something to it.
Do you also have "Melodyne integration" listed multiple times in the log window before it crashes?

If you are really up to date then there shouln'd be a problem.
Try again installing 3.3 in a separate folder. Maybe you updated in some kind of wrong way, dont know. But there is definitely no problem with Studio One 3.3 and the latest Melodyne.

Thanks Ari. But I am using Melodyne 4 already + patched to the latest version. And it DOES crash right on start of Studio One!

But it seems odd that I am experiencing the exact same thing!
See here:

https://forums.presonus.com/viewtopic.php?f=213&t=20619

and I am absolutely using Melodyne 4 and have been using it long before the 3.3 update, too, with no issues. Right after I updated to 3.3 the problem occured!

Well, now I have uninstalled Melodyne 4 Essential completely. Started S1 -> it works! Reinstalled Melodyne 4 Essential again. Started S1 -> CRASH.

So something IS wrong here... I am using Melodyne Essential version 4.0.4.004

Sorry, that Official Statement simply isn't good enough.

"There's no problem with Studio One Professional 3.3 and Melodyne 4." is incorrect.

As I've already said in my posts, my Melodyne Studio 4 was already up to date before running the 3.3 update. I have re-clicked M4's 'Update' button and it simply tells me I have the right version, viz 4.0.4.001 (64 bit). My system was up to date and working perfectly, therefore.

Then I applied 3.3 and got the crash that many have been reporting, i.e. at the 'Melodyne Integration' preliminaries loading line. The only variable here is 3.3.

There has been something bad going on with Melodyne ever since they released version 4.

It hangs for at least 10 seconds every time when I booted up prior to the 3.3. update. Now it seems with the 3.3 update a lot more people are seeing this, plus crashing.

I really hope the hang time issue gets fixed as well when they correct the crashing.

Please.

Thanks,

Shane

This sounds like iLok
Do you have it activated on your computer or via iLok?

Hi SkylineUK,

Version 4.04.001 is not the latest version.

The "Check For Updates" button that is found in Melodyne when running in Studio One does not work. This is something discovered by Jemusic quite a while back and thanks should go to him for this.

You have to manually go in to your Celemony account and download Melodyne. Unfortunately it does not tell you what the current version is until you start the download, but I can verify that it is currently at 4.04.004.

That said, I'm running version 4.04.001 and I did not have a problem installing and running the Studio One 3.3 update other than the 10 second hang time at startup on 'Melodyne Integration' which has been there ever since I upgraded from Melodyne 2 to 4 several months ago.

As I was typing this I downloaded 4.04.004 and installed it. I'm still seeing the 10 second + hang time at boot up but it loaded fine.

Hope this helps.

Good to see you btw.

Thanks,

Shane
