S1 3.1 just crashes without any error or statement if you try loading an older project which contains iLok2 plugins.
You can try to re-create a crash within S1 version 3.1: 1. Create new Song 2. Put in some Soundtoys Plugins (because they need ilok2) i tried LittleAlterBoy 3. Crash 4. If not Crashed 5. Try Save As You can also try VirtualTapeMachine from Slate Digital or VirtualMixRack I experienced the same with these plugins! And if you open older project with one of these plugins in it, S1 will crash! Hope this comes to a dev soon and they give us a hotfix!!

That is what is interesting. There is a pattern of iLok2 but not all are seeing it and not with all plugins.
Have not noticed if it is win OS related, 32/64 bit or just a few plugins.

Instant crashes here too on startup. This is actually the first time ive ever had problems with crashes in several years of using S1 Pro. I am on windows10 64bit and yes i have an Ilok2 with updated drivers as well running slate, Kush, and others. Hope we can figure this out soon

seems like most of the "crashing" users are on windows 10 64 bit....
And maybe it has something to do with vst3/2 My crashing plugins are all VST2 I read of some users who use VST3 which do not crash. So maybe Win10 64bit + VST2 ilok Plugins = Crash?

Yep... I noticed all posts (with a signature)* here with the issue are on Win10.
Win10 automatically pushes updates to your PC. So what worked yesterday may not today. Crashed for me too, on Windows 10 64 bit. Re-installed 3.0.1 and doesn't crash anymore.

Is anyone posting (or even getting) crash reports? I don't see any linked here.
If so, attach them (as file attachments don't paste the text) so they can look at them. In Windows they're in the AppData Studio One folder. Also, have any of you tried the Win 8 compatibility mode thing the other guy mentioned above? If it runs that way at least you'll be able to use it until they track the issue down. I'd try everything really, run as admin (the installer also) whatever. But yeah, a single sentence saying "Crashes here too." won't help very much. Post crash reports. |

What iLok 2 version you are running ( iLok 2 license manager Help/About (latest = 2.5.2) The exact version of the plugin that is hanging ? Attached S1 .dmp files 1) Click on S1 help menu 2) Click setting files 3) Click up on level to Presonus and you will see .dmp file from issues. 4) Attach one if the datetime stamp is associated with the crash.

So, I think its safe to say - the following requirements in combination leads to the plugin crashes
-) Windows 10 64 Bit -) iLok plugins in VST2 (VST3 works fine) -) Studio One 3.1 (3.0.2 worked fine - no changes made to whether the plugins or ilok drivers) Presonus - if you need some testing guy (for beta or hotfixes) contact me - I would be more than happy to help you out.

Am I safe to upgrade if I'm running my Slate subscription plugins in VST3 format? My understanding is that there is some added touchscreen functionality in this release, and I'd really like to take advantage of those, but not if it means I lose access to my Slate VST3's.

Some Vst3 do NOT work (McDSP, Softube, SSL Duende) here.

So.... Has anybody reported to Presonus with a ticket?
I did and it was at first, "yeah, you have to take that up with the plugin dev [Sly-Fi/Kush]"... then I got another guy who basically said, "it works over here..." But, he didn't confirm that we're on the same platform... So... I haven't gotten any follow up from Presonus... I reverted to 3.01. I wish the company would at least acknowledge that there may be an issue with the update....

I did in the first hour or so of the release.
They know there is an issue around possibly iLok2 but there is no clear repeatable steps. People have deduced Win 10 64 bit VST2 and a handful of plugins. However I am on Win 10 64 bit with iLoK2 and my plugins run. More data needs to be gathered. viewtopic.php?p=71469#p71469
