I'm doing this kind of writing to try to learn how to write cinematic scores. Granted, its a little more difficult when you have no formal training and don't know music theory. Anyway, I think I'm getting better but "better" is somewhat contextually relative.
I created it this morning so it's still a work in progress to some degree.

Hi PSS4,
Nice job, so far! "I'm doing this kind of writing to try to learn how to write cinematic scores. Granted, its a little more difficult when you have no formal training and don't know music theory. Anyway, I think I'm getting better but "better" is somewhat contextually relative. As long as you are seeking improvement, it will be yours to share when you feel it is done. That's all that matters! Enjoy the process! Two sayings come to mind (fav's of mine). “A man would do nothing, if he waited until he could do it so well that no one would find fault with what he has done.” -John Henry Cardinal Newman “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.” -Vince Lombardi I think it's coming along well and thank you for sharing. If I may make two points for positive critique. After all. It's in development, right? 1. The Vocal ""ahhh's". They're a bit inhibiting the piece due to the same attack (rate of initial ADSR-Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release). Some blending of more vocal samples from even more libraries, or include your own! 2. Sit back and imagine a cinematic piece, and you'd likely hear some dynamic changing, or re phrasing of that melody. Perhaps the middle, vocals are replaced with some soft clarinet, projecting that nice melody. Maybe it's being alone, maybe it's a romantic first meeting? Its yours to tell the story, and it has some super nice elements. What's to like: There's a subtle Gothic feel. Perhaps, middle ages. Followed by a playfulness. Two souls/creatures fumbling, yet humoring each other. Genuine Innocence. The weather clears, and the fun continues. Only danger is at present from a distance........

No formal training and no musical theory.
Well it sounds pretty good. The vocals sound pretty fake but most VI's do unless you spend some $$$.

Thanks Scott,
I completely agree about the choir. It sounds crappy, I don't own any really good choir samples and I'm not prepared to spend big bucks for a new library of them.
