this is my 9th demo i've posted,
will move into final mix this weekend.

i really don't know how to categorize this one...
any ideas?

it's a melodic idea i've had for 20 years,
finally put it down on virtual tape.

love to get some feedback on the mix and balance of freq's.

It's a really nice work.
Listened with ear buds so need to put it on my system.
Overall, great arrangement.
I found myself really wanting some percussive element to help keep me locked into the time.
On "Blackbird", the cue ball sound on quarter notes (Paul's foot tap?) really helped with nodding along with that song. They didn't have to use that but they did.
On your song, I wanted something like that to keep my head bobbing to the acoustics.
It made me reach for the groove instead of just flowing with it.
Of course this is subjective. You don't need to do anything.
Just my thoughts.
Can't believe all the guitar parts and harmonies. Really excellent.

Currently listening, and I have to say that this is one of the best Soft Rock songs I have heard in years. By the way, if you want to embed just use the audio tags.
Example:
phpBB [audio]

That should make it easier to get noticed on here.

HI BBD! thanks so much for the review and suggestions....
percussive elements, i've already tried...
it seems they only detract, from the mood, and the implied beat.
rather than being a song to propel you along on a mental journey,
this one is designed to let the listener 'breathe'....
and part of what makes this song 'unique' is the fact that it doesn't have any drums or percussion...
so THAT is the thing i'm going after here.

i KNOW i wont hit the bullsmark with everyone on this one,
and that's ok.

as it is, i'm writing some very light cymbal work,
and MAYBE that will imply enough meter to work as a 'percussion' track.

so, just to be clear,
there are acoustic AND electric rhythms all blended together,
6 guitar tracks in all.

i'm working on mixing the acoustics hotter in the front end, and the electrics hotter in the back end now, for final mix elements.
