Got Studio One 4 10 days ago and this is my 1st recording using it so I am still learning my way around. Well that's my excuse.

I'm blown away :)

really good stuff. Love the beginning. good blend of different instruments that imply different settings, for me anyways.

Yes I like this too. I like your mix here as well. Very nice and full and clean. You have done very well for a very early production on Studio One. Trumpet sounds cool in this too.

I also hate standard back beats with kick on 1 and 3 and snare on 2 and 4 all the time. That is just so over used. You have thought around the groove in this. Its a nice steady 4 but a more interesting and applied groove rather than a blatant 2 and 4 thing. Well done.

Very cool track. I think it really conveys the smoky groove you were aiming for.

May i ask what the trumpet source is? Very tasteful stuff.

This is Really good

Love the guitar playing. It's got that lonely sound & feel to it on one side and a slowly creeping forward feel on the other.

The drum sound is cool in that it doesn't sound like a traditional drum kit (which I like). It adds something modern to the track and makes the drums standout without them being overly loud.

The trumpet sounds excellent too!

Crazy good guitar playing!

Thanks for sharing!

Many thanks I think S1 is so intuitive and after many years of using CB the transition was almost faultless. I had to refer to the manual and some videos a couple of times but in general it was a doddle. Certainly for getting ideas down quickly and composing S1 is IMHO in a league of its own.

Many thanks, yes the Trumpet is in fact a Flugelhorn and you can get it hear : https://www.ueberschall.com/en/product/221/Flugelhorn

Worth noting the only thing I added was a Room Reverb.

Hey :-)
I really like the mellow guitars and the saxophone/trumpet.
(I have to write as an amateur to real instruments)
It's a really relaxing track.
Well produced.
Layed back.
And well arranged.
The ambient sounds of thunderstorm fit it well.
Best wishes :-)
Florian
