I was trying to come from that place of what feelings are evoked from such a melody. There's some playful passages, and some reflections of past or present. Simple, and flighty.

Still much to learn about mixing, though

Musical ideas that pop out by themselves are always a good thing. It's sort of like dreaming. It tells us more about ourselves, or leaves something out there for interpretation.

Not to get Freudian but you get the idea.

The mix part if addressed fully, is about half of the effort of writing (or close). So there's a good portion of energy spent whittling away on the sound.

I usually think of mastering, as the packaging.

I like the melody/theme quite much, sounds light and cheerful to me. Definitely something you should work out on arrangement and mix.
