Let me know how the mix sounds your end:

Just heard the song through my cheap headphones and couldn't find anything annoying. Somehow the tune reminds of the 60s music by The Kinks, quite charming.

Thanks Oliver that's nice of you to say. I've since tweaked a few things including the bass which was almost 3db too loud
|
Sounds great- I can't quibble with anything. I listened on my little Alesis 3 Elevate monitors
(which can produce more bass than many might think - if pushed). I was on the edge of deciding that a tad more bass would be nice, but when I think that when using these monitors, the bass is usually just right. So I think that the 3ddb bass was probably spot on. |
This is very creative. A different kind of genre. It's really not about how does the mix sound. In this case it really doesn't matter. It's the vibe and song that can capture or not.
I liked it. It was different and interesting. That is what I would expect feedback for. Well done! |
Thanks guys...and Bbd thank you, what a lovely thing to say
|
Yeah ...Ik with Bbd on this one...I cant say I really like the song....but I do like the ambience in the mix, the instrument separation is nice.
Keep going |
Sounds good to me. Especially the drums. At first I though the Bass could come up a bit but after I got into the song It was fine as is. Good Job

My goodness I like this song! As someone else said it reminds me of Ray Davies a lot...And I love that man's songwriting. It's really out of this world.
As for the mix itself, the frequencies themselves seem balanced, but the stereo image doesn't. Don't be afraid to pan a reverb send a bit more left or right. The first verse (though you variate it later, which is nice) I think is a bit too up the middle for me. Good instrumentation, too. |
Thanks for listening and the advice. I've really only got a grasp of the basics of mixing. Panning reverbs sounds very exotic to me...though I'm sure it's probably a simple thing to do. There's a lot of stuff in mixing I am keen to learn and implement.
Glad you like the song itself! |
Love this! What a cool out-of-the-box song. Nothing really poking out in a bad way, but as codyhazel said, the mix sounds kind of narrow. Maybe you could try some LCR panning. It would kind of fit the "vintage" vibe too. Really enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks a lot. I've increased the stereo width a bit to widen it. Not a great deal, but I think it's evident. The intro and the first verse were not terribly wide as the Rhodes and lick work doesn't really kick in until verse 2. Once verse 2 starts things sound suitably panned to me. But I've accentuated it further with this new version.
I appreciate the advice |
Wow .. this is really sweet
Great toe tapping track and sounds really full and balanced. I'm on headphones and it's like the sound fills my whole head both in frequency and space - nice job! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks a lot mate, that means I'm getting better at mixing I guess. Still a lot to learn!

Toe tapper!
Don't touch the mix. It's feel good music. If someone tells you to fix something, just punch them in the face! (I'm joking). Really nice, HPeeps. Leave it.

Thanks a lot fellas. In future I'd like my stuff to be more full....overall I think it's a tad thin. I could be wrong, but that's what I think.
|
hello people wrote... but that's what I think. When it comes to your own music, that's what counts!
