Sounds well mixed and in the typical realm of a soundtrack.
However I prefer ones with a melody or a standout lead instrument.

Well done sir,
I especially like the lead string instrument you used. Very emotional playing with a long drawn out melody. What did you use for that? The big Bass hit near the end I might consider something with more of a "Boom" and a long decay, but it's fine the way it is too. This could be used as soundtrack or as an intro to some other tune as well. I enjoyed it

Very nice, Magnus!
This piece, especially the first 1:25, would really be at home in Blade Runner. |
That "doesn't exist".... yet.
Because you said "SciFi", I waited for the eerie moog synth part that never came. And then I wanted to feel tension like the spaceman hero lost his grip on the tether line. Or, the alien tried to jump him when he wasn't looking. Or, it could have been a shot of a cool and very big space craft on its way to Jupiter. The beg is ripe for some solo instrument touches IMO. Nice sounds. Keep creating. |
First, great title to the post. And, having said that, I think that this belongs in a movie that has some Sci_Fi elements within it, but has many deep elements which are elegantly presented.
In other words, your work belongs in something deeper than a "run of the mill" Sci Fi film. One thing that comes to my goofy mind: The violin is really sweet, and I wish it was closer. It's hard to explain, but: How about running the violin to a send, which is high passed at 2,000 kilohertz, with medium to high saturation/distortion. And just mix a tiny tad of that in, here and there. Seems like a cool idea to me! But then, sometimes I can exhibit symptoms of being a jackass. But STILL! Maybe you could include a small amount of that. You could. But if not, then sincerely, this piece is great, AS iS. P.S. Are you actually Hans Zimmer? |
