I had some hard rock guitar over this, but couldn't convince myself that I liked it. Seemed to clutter too much, but without it seems a little lacking and repetitive. Being selective with gtr leads sparcely put here and there, seemed odd too.
Any rate...love the expansion (as a Christmas present). Headphones work best!!
Thanks for any comments.

Even though I’m a drummer I feel they are taking over the arrangement a bit too much. Are they programmed?

Other than that, I liked it.

Yes...I did the MIDI for them. Yeah...I like bombastic drums. This is "supposed" to have some guitars over it...more a band context with the symphonic backup, but I felt it really got too busy then.
Thanks for the listen and especially the comment.

I like bombastic drums too and I'm a guitarist. ;)
Usually drums make songs more 'rock' for me and I mix them prominently in my stuff.

This sounds well mixed to me and in the realm of the Nightwish and Within Temptations catalog. The main difference to me is this is missing the vox (of course) and the typical symphonic rock guitars.

A small critique is that "I feel" this takes too long to get going. I love many songs with long, building intros but they have to 'affect' me to be captured. 8-)

Interesting mix of instruments going on. I liked the 'bombastic' drums too :) I think it does need a vocal or rock guitar over the top though, at least in places perhaps.

That groove is really nice, especially the drum pattern in the beginning. I agree with JP, a nice female pop vocal over this with some meaningful lyrics would knock it out of the park as the space is already there, the arrangement isn't overdone.

Nice.

P.S. Oh man, listening more, that is really nice, foundation wise. That's the kind of thing you'd give to a good singer / lyricist and they'd loop it until they came up with a really nice hook for the chorus, record that with maybe 4-6 background vocal harmony layers, and then build the verses around that concept, whatever the hook is.
