So here's another ditty .. I seem to finally be settling into a genre I think
I'm still trying to develop my percussion work and this time I didn't start from any pre-defined patterns but built it up from scratch using Maschine. As always, comments and suggestions welcome phpBB [audio] Thanks

Very nice, I love it.
This is right in the genre and tempo range of what I'm into now. Well mixed and nice instrument selection too.

Nice tune, nice mix, I am not into this and got the "telephone vibe "All our operators are busy, please hold" feeling. I think it's me only and the tune is nice in general, just not my cup of the.

Hey BusterBuk,
Nice feel and production. I was jamming to it thru the Series III with some killer reverb using my Strat. Fun. Sounds great. Like the major chord at the end of your chord sequence. |
Bbd wroteHey BusterBuk, Thanks Bbd Maybe sometime you could lay down a 'real' guitar on one of my tracks to make up for the lack of them in my pieces

Hi Jon,
good job on this tune, sounds balanced and well mixed on my side. I can recognize your songs easily by now, you created your own brandmark in music.

Your style reminds me of meditation music, nice sounding keys and strings etc, repetitive melodies with subtle differences. This would be good also for movie soundtracks.
I can picture cinematic/orchestral drums in this one, no constant beat, just occassional rolling cymbals and other percussion, very light then some bigger bass drum sounds etc to add tension here and there. Sporadic orchestral drums might suit your style, just my opinion. |
Lovely. The waltzing timing that you did almost had an odd meter feel to it... and more like a 6/8 vs 3/4. Nice mix too

Terence, thank you for the listen and the feedback. I have dabbled before with adding Taiko drums to one of my pieces but I ended up overdoing it a little I get what you mean though so may give it another go

I didn't actually start with the intention of a 'waltz' but something about the piece made me think of something I had seen on a dance competition on tv and it seemed to fit (For those that know it in the UK the program was Strictly Come Dancing .. and yes I have to confess I watch it ) Thank you for the listen and the feedback.

A very beautiful dreamy piece with a nice piano theme, my only crit would be that maybe in the drop the theme could've changed to ..lets say, a nylon guitar, then back to piano, just to add more light and shade to the piece...just a suggestion
the piece stands well as is though, I enjoyed it best, Kevin

Thank you for the listen and the feedback Kevin. I hear what you are saying, I do tend to get 'stuck' with one dominant instrument in the pieces I do and this has been mentioned before. It's funny as the latest piece I posted https://forums.presonus.com/viewtopic.php?f=206&t=27793 was mainly nylon guitar and folks said I should swap it out for something different like a piano
I'll get there in the end Thanks again
