Hey zenithian,

Like your composition. I think you can get more out of your mix.
Check this out:

phpBB [video]

I am not in love with the example but the low end to hi end is an example of getting more our of a mix than not.
If you bring this up and A/B compare to your mix, you will hear stuff that is different like:

1. Low end bass is more defined.
2. Kick has more punch.
3. Mid range to upper highs are more pronounced.

Now I know it's not fair to compare your work to a commercial release BUT...
If you compare, you might be able to bring out more of your mix to get closer. That's my suggestion.

Let me know if this makes sense or not.

I get what you are trying to say, but aside from Sidechaining, I'm still clueless on compressors. Plus, I always put a limiter set to -1db on the master channel. When it comes to mixing, I just take the cymbal crash, rides, hi hats, etc. down considerably. (Around -9db) My loudest is reserved for the kick, and that is set around -3db. I still have the source file if you want to re-master it.

OK. PM me and I will look at re-mastering. If you like what I end up doing, I will tell you how I did it.
If you don't like it, then it won't matter!
I think I can make it punch a bit more and will have some high end sparkle.

I agree with Bbd on this one. All the components are there but to me it sounds a bit muffled in the bass and lacking 'sparkle' in the highs. Nothing that can't be fixed in the mix though :)
