Speaking through the Al1 logic probe, HLM, time travellers from a climate change destroyed future come back to present day NZ looking for intelligent life to prevent the coming global catastrophe.

phpBB [audio]

In stationary orbit locked over southern seas.
Logic probe probe, HLM, you're all go for green.
Commence your scan for intelligent life forms.
Logic machine Al1, do you read? Tell me, what do you see?

Do you see anything or anyone?
Make sure they receive me on all frequencies.

Breaking from orbit, lighting the skies from above.
Extend your search HLM, keep that eye on the prize we love.
Continue with plans to find intelligent life forms where you can.
Logic machine Al1, do you read? If you please, broadcast for me.

If you hear anything, anyone.
I'm making first contact. I come in peace. Is there any one home?
First you have to believe me, I come in peace. I'm here to save the world.
Confirm you receive. Confirm you receive.

'Cause you've got it so wrong, and before too long, you'll fade away to dust.
And you need to hold on and be very strong to make the change.

Descending through climate, I'm over the Northern Isle.
Remember they'll hurt HLM, you'll be quite the surprise.
Implement logic for inferior life forms who comply.
Logic machine Al1, do you read? Good luck, friend. Now bring them to me.

If you love anything, or anyone else but yourself.
I'm making first contact. I come in peace. Please just pick up the phone and dial.
I'm not here to deceive you. I come in peace. We can save the world if we try.
Please, confirm you receive me. Confirm you receive.

'Cause you've not got so long, that before too long, you fade away to dust.
And you need to hold on and be very strong to make the change we must.
And you must. And you must.

I like this .. nice idea and catchcy tune :)

For me though, I think though that the vocals probably need some work - even with the lyrics printed out I found it really hard to understand the words. Perhaps dial back the effect a little?

Thanks for sharing

Man, I think the music was awesome!
That is also a catchy groove with a nice synth sound riding the pocket. ;)

I think your story/lyrics are really great too and (I think) a nice flow of delivering them.
However, to better connect with listeners you should really tweak the vocals so they are way more easily understood.

It's great to have the lyrics printed out to follow along but even with that I got lost about 6 times as the syllables and phrasing were hard to follow.

Lastly, I wouldn't think that many people are going to take the time to read along with the lyrics... they want to click "Play" to listen and enjoy hearing the 'whole' song.

Thanks for the plays and song comments 8-)

About the vocals. I can't sing a note, and even auto tune won't save me if the source material isn't half decent to begin with. The only way I can get a listen able end piece is to use a vocoder. It is what it is, and though not perfect by any means, it's a hundred percent better than the alternative. Trust me

I'm just pleased technology has evolved to finally enable me to get my ideas out in to the wide world.
I write, and under no illusions, can't see me ever performing without the fx, that, or a lottery win and a very patient singing coach. I'm constantly experimenting with vocal to sound more legible (audible) and experimenting with compression and eq helps.

At the very least I'm in the game, and fortunate for this great Daw and it's comforting work flow.

I don't think either of us are implying you drop the vocoder totally as it actually adds nicely to the piece. I think it just needs the effect dialing down a bit or maybe mix it with some of the unprocessed vocal just to make it easier to understand :)

Thanks for posting. That was interesting. Would love to hear your voice no make how bad you think it is. You can use Melodyne to clean it up and then adding in some EFX would be cool.
Just want more human in it!
Lyrics helped. Could not follow w/o them.

I can't sing for a lick either, but this trick has helped me keep my lyrics semi discernable after initially over-processing them as a cover up
